GameOn! London Cancelled

It appears that GameOn! London has been cancelled without any notice or reason.

The official twitter account for GameOn! London tweeted about an hour ago saying:

“It is with great sadness that we announce that GameOn! London has been cancelled.Seatem ticketing agency will process your refunds”

The official site stating a similar message:

“It is with great sadness that we announce that GameOn! London has been cancelled.

For those who have purchased tickets, Seatem ticketing agency will directly process your refunds”

There have been no reasons given by GameOn! London, but if I’m honest, I’m not surprised this has happened as the event seemed flaky at best at times.

I’d applied for a press-pass and when I was told that GameAbuser was added I replied back saying how it would work and never got a reply. I was expecting “Just say your names at the door” or “Here are some print outs” like I got with other press passes. But no; nothing.

I also asked for extra tickets for my friends. I bought tickets to the original dates, which was 20th and 21st of June, before I applied for a press pass; when they changed the dates to November 14th and 15th they offered 4 free tickets for each ticket bought as a sorry; so I effectively had 8 extra tickets to be given. They said that it was all fine and they would mail them out, but 3 months still later and no tickets but a cancellation.

So it seemed as if the employees weren’t doing as much as they could be with regards to the event. But maybe this was badly planned as Eurogamer Expo is the month before so lots of people will be heading to that (including us at GameAbuser as press) and that’s getting some great support within the industry.

What now then? They said that Seatem will be handling the refunds (which will be internally handled by Keith Prowse I think). I paid £8 each for my tickets as I bought them when they first came out, but I’m not holding my breath to get that money back.

Let us know how it goes for you guys getting your money back, what are you going to do instead now or just how you feel about all this.
