The Face of the New Castlevania Game

After much wondering and pondering by myself as to what the fable face that sppeared on Konami’s website meant and what the link was with Kojima Productions NEXT page has been revealed at E3.

It’s for Castlevania: Lords of Shadows that is being developed by MercurySteam (based in Madrid, so some European flavour on European story) with production support from Kojima Productions (adding a nice little Japanese twist).

Castlevania: Lords of Shadows looks quiet impressive. Watching the E3 trailer, it does have a look of God of War gameplay to it with whips. The graphics are very nice, a very Western feel with an after-taste of Eastern (or Japanese) feel.

“In order to be more appealing in the years to come… we thought that this project should be done this way” Kojima-san said

It also has quiet a lineup of voice actors for the game: Patrick Stward, Robert Carlyle, Jason Isaacs and Natasha McElhone. Konami are really putting a lot into this game. Although I’ve never been into previous Castlevania games, I might have to pick this one up as it’s already shaping up to be a very cool game.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow will be “reborn” in 2010 across multiple platforms (Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 for the time being I think).
